The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of linear Glass Line Scales.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a Glass Scale. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 18 inch and metric measurements in x and y axis including scales, circles, and squares from 0 to 6 inches, and 0 to 140 mm.  Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

12" Twin Beam Height Gage HGTG-517 - In Development

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant's practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of an Electronic Height Gauge.

This ILC/PT Kit contains an electronic height gauge with 0.0005 inch resolution with a stated manufacturer's accuracy of  ±0.001(±0.02mm) inches. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 12 measurements of height from zero to 12 inches. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Protractor PROTRACTOR-114

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant's practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a protractor.

Steel Gage Blocks, Set of 10 GAGE-709

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of steel gage blocks.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a set of 10 gage blocks, sizes: .05, 0.25, 0.75, 1, 2, 3, 4 inches; and 5, 10, 20 mm. Participants will use their own lab practices to perform 10 measurements of length.

Gage Block Set of 6 GAGE-201

This six piece block set is intended for the participant to demonstrate technical competence in the calibration of longer gage blocks ranging from 3 in to 20 in. The associated reference uncertainties are in the order of 5 uin to 41 uin.

Vision Systems: Stage Micrometer RPS-102

This program consists of an etched glass scale with graduations from 0.003 inch to 1.9 inch. The intent of this test is for the laboratory to evaluate technical competence in the calibration of these or similar instruments. The reference uncertainty is in the range of 30 uin.

Inspection Parts - Pin, Aluminum Cast Artifact INSP-201

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant organization to evaluate the ability of a technician to make measurements utilizing dimensional inspection test equipment. For this ILC/PT micrometers, height gages and calipers are the only inspection measuring equipment to be used. This program involves the measurement of distances, locations, inside and outside diameters of an aluminum artifact and a set of Deltronic pins.

Micrometer Length Standards MICLS-101

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration laboratories competence in the measurement of a set of length standards.

This seven piece set varies from 1 inch to 7 inches, in 1 inch increments. The associated reference uncertainty is on the order of 20 micro inches to 40 micro inches. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 7 measurements of length. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Pin Gage Set PIN-100

This program consists of the calibration of twelve pin gages varying in size from 0.0615 inch to 0.2495 inch. The intent of this test is to provide a means for participants to demonstrate competence in the calibration of these or similar devices. The associated uncertainty is in the order of 60 uin.

Roundness ROUNDNESS-111

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for laboratories to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participants practices, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of Roundness. This ILC/PT contains a 1 inch Class XXX Plain Plug.

Participants are asked to make roundness measurements at three locations. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Plain Cylindrical Ring Gage Set RING-106

This six piece ring gage set provides the laboratory an opportunity to demonstrate technical competence in the measurement of the inside diameter. Sizes vary from 0.5 in to 4.0 in. Reference uncertainties are in the range of 14 uin to 20 uin. Participants have been able to demonstrate uncertainties in the range of 20 uin to 30 uin.

Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Dimensional Inspection, Test Blocks CMM-106

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to measuring of fabricated parts.

This ILC/PT Kit involves the use of a CMM to complete multiple measurements. Six special features are measured resulting in 24 unique measurements, including angles. Measurements range from 0.0001 to 9.5 inches and approximately 20 degrees of angle. Expected resolution is 10 microns and 10 micro degrees of angle.

Participants are expected to be familiar with the operation and of their CMM in the inspection and measurement of fabricated parts against design tolerances, have all necessary equipment, and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for measurement of similar devices.

Dimensional Inspection, Test Blocks CMM-208

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to measuring of fabricated parts.

This ILC/PT Kit involves the use of a CMM to complete multiple measurements. Four special features are measured resulting in 14 unique measurements, including angles. Measurements range from 1.0 to 11.0 inches and approximately 35 degrees of angle. Expected resolution is 10 microns and 10 micro degrees of angle.          

Participants are expected to be familiar with the operation and of their CMM in the inspection and measurement of fabricated parts against design tolerances, have all necessary equipment, and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for measurement of similar devices.

Thread Plug Set THTP-209

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of Thread Set Plug Gages. The kit consists of a ¾-20 UNEF-2A; a 1.000-32 UNF-2A; and a M8 X 1.0-6g Threaded Plug Gages.

By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with Thread Plug Gages. Associated reported uncertainties will also be evaluated as part of this ILC/PT.

Hand Tool Set IMC-516

This ILC/PT Kit contains three dimensional hand tools. It is intended to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant's practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of dimensional hand tools common to most inspection laboratories.

Participant is asked to perform a total of 12 measurements within the ranges of 2.54mm-14.00mm (Dial Indicator), 1.1140 in – 3.0000 in (Caliper), and 0.2445 in- 0.8500 in (Mitutoyo Mic).

Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Thread Wires - Set of 9 WIRE-102

This ILC/PT provides three sets of thread wires, each containing three wires (wires are typical of those used for 60 degree; TPI 20, 40, and 80 thread gage calibration). Wires have been identified by size and color.

Participants are asked to measure these nine thread wires following their established procedures, determine wire constants, and report the results along with associated uncertainty. The reference uncertainty will be in the order of 0.00002 in.

Digital Micrometer and Caliper Set MIC-201

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participants practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a micrometer and a caliper.

This program provides both a micrometer and caliper in one set. The one inch micrometer requires five readings within its range. The caliper requires four readings over the six inch range. Measurement uncertainties reported are in the order of 0.0004 inch.

Plain Cylindrical Plug Gage Set PLUG-315

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participant laboratories to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the calibration of Cylindrical Plug Gages.

This program provides the opportunity to measure the outside diameter of four plugs from one inch to four inch. This ILC is beneficial to laboratories with measurerment uncertianties in the 23 uin to 40 uin range. The associated reference uncertainty is 18 uin to 24 uin.

 Surface Finish SURFACE-216
 The purpose of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in the measurement of surface finish using appropriate equipment, procedures, and their ability to follow measurement instructions. 

This ILC/PT Kit contains three artifacts with varying surface parameters.  Participants will use their lab practices to perform surface finish Ra measurements in the range of 12 microinches to 118 microinches. Measurement values will be appropriate for measurement of similar surfaces.

RMS Clamp Meter   CLAMP-309

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participants practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of a typical Clamp Meter.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a multifunction Clamp Meter. Participants will perform 10 measurements across functions of AC & DC Voltages up to 150 V, AC & DC Clamp Current up to 500 A, and Resistance. The artifact resolution is 0.1 Units.

 

Participants are expected to be familiar with the operation and calibration of Multifunction Clamp Meters, have all necessary lab equipment, and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.
Fluke Handheld DMM-306

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a digital handheld multimeter. This ILC/PT Kit contains a handheld DMM. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 13 measurements of voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency and temperature with a device having 3.5 digits of resolution. Measurements may be up to: 200V, 250 mA, 250 kOhms, 100 uF, 20 kHz, 110 °F. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

6.5 Digit Multimeter  DMM-512
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a 6.5 digit Digital Multifunction Meter (DMM).

This ILC/PT Kit contains a 6.5 digit DMM. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 17 measurements of voltage, current, 4-wire resistance, capacitance and frequency. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

5.5 Digit Multimeter DMM-612

The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of a 5½ Digit Multimeter (DMM). Participants in this ILC will use their established methods and procedures to perform a pre-determined set of 19 measurements across the ranges and functions of a 5½ DMM, to include measurement of AC Voltage, DC Voltage, AC Current, DC Current, Resistance, Frequency and Capacitance. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

10 Volt Reference ELECTRICAL-732B

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participants practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to characterizing a 10 Volt reference with measurement stability in the 0.1 ppm range. This ILC/PT is limited to those having the ability to measure DC Voltage having uncertainty in the 5 uV range. This test can be used in conjunction with a MAP program or used to supplement current calibration processes. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for characterization of similar devices.

LCR Meter LCR-METER-108

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to determine their proficiency (e.g. use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of an LCR meter. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurements associated with capacitance, inductance, and impedance. Calibration standards will be supplied by the participant at 100 pF, 100 nF, 10 µF, 1000uF, 100 uH, 1 mH, 100 mH, 10 O, 1000 O, 1 MO. Participants will not adjust the LCR meter but use their standards and report the difference in readings between their standards and those obtained from the LCR meter. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices (LCR-Meters).

Air Resistor Set RESISTANCE-201

This set of six precision resistors provides an opportunity for the calibration laboratory to demonstrate technical competence utilizing resistance measurement capabilities. The ranges of values are from 1 Ohm to 1 GigaOhms and corresponding uncertainties range from 10 microOhms to 50 kOhms. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Thermocouple Calibrator TCC-208
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of Thermocouple (TC) Simulation.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a Digital TC Calibrator. Resolution for TC Source: 0.1°C; Measure: 0.01 °C. Accuracy at set points is 0.2 °C to 1.2 °C depending on TC type. TC types available for both Source and Measure include J, K, T, E, R, S, B, L, U, & C. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to perform 20 set point measurements of TC Source (x10) and Measure (x10).

Standard Inductors SIND-216

This set of three inductors covers the range of 1 mH to 200 mH. This test was developed as a means for the calibration laboratory to validate its ability to measure inductance. Standard frequencies of 100 Hz, 400 Hz and 1 KHz are included. The associated measurement uncertainty for this set ranges from 0.0007 mH for the smaller inductor and 0.2 mH for the 200 mH.

Oscilloscope OSCOPE-314

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant laboratory to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant methods, procedures, training and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the calibration of parameters associated with a typical Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) within the reported uncertainty of the laboratories measurement and calibration processes. Both amplitude and time/frequency measurements are offered on a 200 MHz, 2 GS/s DSO, to include: DC Gain, Bandwidth, Sample Rate & Time Delay, Time Marker, and Squarewave. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Capacitors CAPACITANCEs1409

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of Fixed Capacitors.

This ILC/PT Kit consists of seven GenRad capacitors in the range of 0.001 uF to 0.5 uF. Participants are expected to be able to characterize each capacitor and report the measured values within their reported uncertainties. The frequency of test will be at 1 KHz.

Participants are expected to be familiar with the calibration of fixed capacitors, have all necessary lab equipment, and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Power Meter RF-PWR-GENERATE-114

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to help the participating laboratory determine the proficiency of the lab generating rf/microwave power. The power meter and sensor will be considered the standard for comparison of the customer generated signal. Power will be generated at 100microwatts (µW) and 2 milliwatts (mW). The set points in this ILC/PT include generation of power levels at specified frequencies. Reported values will be acquired using the NAPT artifact to measure the actual power generated by the participant equipment. The participant will not adjust the power meter, but be verifying the actual values generated at the given set points.

Power Meter  RF-PWR-MEASURE-214

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to help the participating laboratory determine the proficiency of the lab measuring rf/microwave power. Two tests will be accomplished: 1. The reference power level output (1 mWat 50MHz) will be measured. 2.Calibration Factors (%CF) of an RF Power Meter/Sensor System will be determined by applying 1 milliwatt input signal at five different frequencies. Reported values of CF will be acquired by measuring the NAPT artifact with the reference standards provided by the participant. The participant will not make any adjustments to the power meter.

Attenuators Set of 5 Power Meter ATNR dB Loss-210
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to the calibration of RF Attenuators between 1 and 26.5 GHz.

This ILC/PT contains a set of 5 attenuators; each is a 20 dB, 3.5 mm device. Participants will utilize their practices to perform 60 separate attenuation measurements, as they connect each device, perform dB Loss measurement at a predetermined four frequencies, remove the device, rotate the device per instructions, reconnect, perform measurements at the same four frequencies, remove and rotate the device again and reconnect to perform a third set of measurements. The average of the three measurements at each frequency is reported, and the entire process is repeated with the remaining 4 attenuators.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to measuring the mV/V output of a force transducer. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 8 Load Cell force measurements from 100 lbf to 1000 lbf, and Load Cell Input and Output Resistance. The expected uncertainty of this 3 mV/V transducer is largely dependent on the calibration process and equipment used and will vary from 20 uV to 500 uV.

 1,000 lb Load Cell With Indicator  FORCE-301

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibrating a small capacity load cell using a digital indicator. It will read directly in engineering units over the range of 100 to 1000 lbf. The associated uncertainty is expected in pounds and varies with set point and setup method over this range. This ILC/PT Kit contains a 1000 lb Load Cell with Digital Indicator. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 6 measurements of force. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

 100 lb Force Gage FORCE-313

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of Force Gages.  This ILC/PT Kit contains a Digital Force Gauge. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 5 measurements of tension and 5 measurements of compression between 10 and 100 lbf. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a small capacity force measurement instrument utilizing dead weights. This ILC/PT Kit contains a 4.5-digit Digital Force Gauge. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 5 measurements of compression and 5 measurements of tension in the range of 10 to 100 lbf. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participant labs to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Torque Transducer. The kit includes two torque transducers and a digital indicator. This ILC/PT refers to testing the smaller transducer. Participants are asked to make 10 measurements of Torque (5 CCW, and 5 CW) from 30 lb.in to 300 lb.in. The most common method used for this ILC/PT will consist of tests weights and torque arm.

Digital Toque Transducer w/indicator DTTIND-317 

 The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a torque transducer. This kit includes two torque transducers and digital indicator. This ILC/PT includes the larger transducer. Participants are asked to make 10 measurements of Torque (3 CCW and 5 CW) within a range of 180 lb.in to 1800 lb.in. The most common method used for this ILC/PT will consist of tests weights and torque arm.

Torque Wrench Set of 3 Wrenches  TORQ-201
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of Torque Wrenches with a reference uncertainty of 2% i.v. on pound*inch range and 1% i.v. on pound*foot range.  This ILC/PT Kit contains three Torque Wrenches, covering ranges 30 in*lb to 540 in*lb and 20 ft*lb to 90 ft*lb. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make measurements of Torque at nine set points (three set points per wrench). Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

 Torque Transducer TORQ-301

This program is offered to laboratories simulating torque measurements with transducers or the combination of weights and arms. Participants measure torque in the clockwise (CW) and counter-clockwise (CCW) direction from 200 lbf*in to 2000 lbf*in. The results are provided in mV/V with the reported uncertainty. The associated uncertainty for this program is in the range of 0.002 mV/V to 0.004 mV/V.

Torque Wrench Set of 4 Wrenches TORQ-514

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participant laboratories to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the their practices, training, and measurement uncertainties relating to the measurement of Torque by comparison of reported data and uncertainties to the data and uncertainties of other laboratories measuring the same data points on the same artifacts. This ILC/PT Kit contains 4 Torque Wrenches: two Digital 1800 in*lb and 2 Flat Beam 600 in*lb Wrenches. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make Torque measurements at three Set Points per wrench for a total of 12 Set Points in the range of 100 to 1800 in*lb. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to evaluate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a Torque Screwdriver Set. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with like equipment. The kit consists of four torque screw drivers. Range of measurements are 20 in*oz to 36 in*lbs.

100 PSI Transducer (Pneumatic)  PRESSURE-103 - NOT AVAILABLE
This program provides the opportunity for participants to demonstrate competence in the calibration of a digital pressure gage. The expected uncertainty associated with similar measurements is between 0.02 psi and 0.16 psi.  Participants are asked to perform 10 measurements of pneumatic pressure from 10 to 100 psig.

This program is intended to provide a means for laboratories to validate their calibration practice on a 1000 psi Pressure Transducer. Participants are asked to make 10 measurements from 0 to 900 psig. This transducer has an uncertainty range of 0.006 psi on the lower part of the range to 0.22 psi at the higher end. Resolution is 0.001 psig.

1,000 PSI Digital Test Gage PRESSURE-211
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participant laboratories to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the calibration of a 1000 psi Digital Pressure Gage. Participants are asked to make a series of ten pneumatic pressure measurements between 100 and 1000 psi. The artifact resolution is 0.1 psi. The artifact accuracy specification is 0.1% FS from 20 to 100% of Full Scale, and 0.02% FS from 0 to 20% of Full Scale.

 10,000 PSI Transducer (Hydraulic) PRESSURE-302
This program is intended to provide a means for laboratories to validate their Hydraulic Pressure calibration practices over a range of 10 to 70 MPa (approximately 1459 to 10,153 psi). This transducer provides the laboratory an opportunity to demonstrate calibration in the metric equivalent, Mpa. The manufacturer specification for the artifact within the test range is 0.004 to 0.009 MPa depending upon set point.

Participants are asked to perform 11 measurements, on increasing and decreasing scale from 0 to 1000 psi. Resolution of the digital artifact is 0.01 psi. Pressure medium - use only clean, dry non-corrosive gases (pneumatic). Manufacturer specification for artifact accuracy is 0.01% FS (FS = 1000 psi).

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participants to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of their practices, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of Pressure in the range of 0 to 15 inH2O. Artifact resolution is 0.0001 inH2O. Artifact specification is 0.010% Full Scale.  Participants are asked to make 11 pressure measurements from 0.0 to 15.0 inH2O in ascending and descending set points. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant's methods, procedures, training and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of bi-directional (compound) pressures.  Potential participants could select this ILC/PT if their goals in participating include; demonstrating competency in the calibration of bi-directional pressure with a reference uncertainty of 0.010% of span, and validating the participant’s CMC stated on their Scope of Accreditation.

 500 psi & 10K psi PRESSURE GAUGE  PRESSURE-817

Compound Gage  PRESSURE/VAC-111
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant laboratory to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of Pressure and Vacuum.  This kit contains a compound Pressure/Vacuum Gage. Participants will be asked to make 5 Pressure measurements between 5 and 30 psi, as well as 5 Vacuum measurements between 5 and 25 inHg on a digital gage having 0.01 psi resolution.

 900 mm Hg Absolute Manometer  VACUUM-355 

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to vacuum measurements by means of calibration of a Precision Absolute Manometer.  This ILC/PT Kit contains a 900 mm Hg Absolute Manometer, with digital display resolution of 0.1 mm Hg.  Participants in this ILC will use their established practices to perform a pre-determined set of 5 measurements between the range of 0 to 900 mm Hg A @ 0 C.

 Mass Weight Set MASS-101
This program is intended to provide a means for the participant laboratory to validate the technical competence of the laboratory in the calibration of small weights. This ASTM Class 1 weight kit contains 9 items ranging from 1 g to 100 g. Reference values and associated uncertainties are provided by an accredited laboratory who concentrates on these measurements. Reference uncertainties vary from 1.6 ug to 12 ug depending on size.

New class 1 - Pre-Qualification is required to participate in this ILC/PT. 

The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to provide a means and opportunity for participants to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g. effective and appropriate use of the participant’s equipment, procedures, methods, and measurement uncertainty, and the ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a Class 1 weight set.  By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with weights of similar size and weight class.  This weight set contains 10 weights ranging from 100 g to 500 mg. Participants will use their lab procedures to perform measurements of each weight in the set.

Participants are expected to be familiar with handling and calibration of mass standards, have all necessary auxiliary equipment to support the measurement and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar standards.
 Mass Level Three-A MASS-317 
The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to provide a means and opportunity for participants to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g. effective and appropriate use of the participant’s equipment, procedures, methods, and measurement uncertainty, and the ability to follow instructions) in the calibration of a Class F weight set.  By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with weights of similar size and weight class.  This weight set contains 6 weights ranging from 10 lb to 0.5 lb. Participants will use their lab procedures to perform measurements of each weight in the set.

Participants are expected to be familiar with handling and calibration of mass standards, have all necessary auxiliary equipment to support the measurement and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar standards.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the discipline of hardness calibration. This ILC/PT Kit contains a set of six Rockwell Testblocks. Participant laboratories will need to warm up their hardness tester using their own blocks, and are asked to make a total of 6 measurements between the ranges of 44.5 to 91.0 HRBw and 25.5 to 63.5 HRC.

 Durometer DUROMETER-2240

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of two standard durometers. This ILC/PT Kit contains two standard durometers. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 16 displacement measurements ranging from 0.020 in to 0.080 in with forces from 40 gf to 4533 gf. Test methods and test reporting are based on ASTM D2240 industry requirements. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

The participant infrared standard will be used as a source for all measurements.

This ILC/PT Kit contains an IR Thermometer with 0.1 C resolution and 1% / 1 C (whichever is greater) accuracy spec. Participants are asked to use their lab practices to make 5 measurements of temperature between -20 C and 750 C.

RTD RTD-110

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to evaluate their practices, training, and measurement uncertainty in the calibration of a RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector). This ILC/PT Kit contains a RTD Probe and Digital Readout Device with 0.01C resolution. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 14 temperature measurements from: -75C to +150C. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices. Humidity Sensor Kit for Generation Chamber HUMIDITY-GC-4

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Humidity Sensor via generating humidity in a chamber. No other means of humidity generation is allowed for this ILC, i.e. salt solutions. If your organization does not simulate humidity via this method you are instructed not to participant in this ILC. NAPT has designed additional Humidity ILC/PT's for other methods. Make sure you are participating in the correct ILC/PT for your method of humidity generation. Artifact chosen for this ILC has a range of 0 to 100 %RH. Accuracy of artifact is 1% RH. Initial reference laboratory calibration of test artifact was performed at 21.7 C. calibration of a Humidity Sensor with indicator.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a Digital Humidity Indicator with sensor. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 7 measurements of Relative Humidity percent from 10.00 to 90.00 %RH. Measurement values will be appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Humidity Sensor Kit for Salt Solution HUMIDITY-SS-1

The purpose of this ILC/PT is to demonstrate laboratory ability to make humidity measurements by means of calibration of a Humidity Sensor via reference salt solutions.

No other means of humidity generation is allowed for this ILC, i.e. generation of humidity in a chamber. If your organization does not simulate humidity via this method you are instructed not to participant in this ILC. NAPT has designed additional Humidity ILC/PT's for other methods. Make sure you are participating in the correct ILC/PT for your method of humidity generation.

Hart Scientific PRT PRT-510

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a four terminal Platinum Resistance Thermometer. Participants are requested to make eleven measurements from -190 to 410 C, probe should be immersed to a depth of 6".

The pivot lab uncertainty ranges from 6 mK to 16 mK.

Thermistor Probe THERMISTOR-201

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a 10Kohm Thermistor Probe. This is a four terminal device requires current from 2uA to 10uA. Participants are requested to make 4 predetermined measurements from 0 °C to 100 °C with five inch immersion. Best Measurement Capability of participant should not be greater than the accuracy of the UUT. Uncertainties expected will range from 0.017 °C to 0.13 °C. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Glass Thermometers - Full Immersion TEMP-ASTM-60C

This program consists of five glass thermometers covering a measurement range of - 0.7 °C to 151 °C. Laboratories have the option of calibrating one or more thermometers. A temperature bath and precision monitoring instrument will be required to perform this ILC/PT. The temperature resolution varies from 0.1 and 0.2 °C depending on the thermometer selected. Laboratories with measurement uncertainty in the range of 0.05 °C to 0.3 °C would benefit from this test.

Digital Thermometer with Probe TEMP-DIGITAL-111 

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Digital Thermometer.

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Digital Thermometer.

Process Controller TEMP-214 

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of a Process Controller. The temperature range is from 0 C to 280 C with expected measurement uncertainties from 0.25 C to 1.0 C. The 4 mA to 20 mA output is also calibrated with uncertainties in the 0.01 mA to 0.02 mA range.

Participants are asked to simulate input values and measure output current from the controller.

Type S Industrial Thermocouple THER-206

The intent of this ILC/PT is to give organizations an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the calibration of a Type S Industrial Thermocouple. Participants are asked to make 5 measurements with a thermocouple over the range of 1000 degree F to 2000 degree F. Associated reported uncertainties will also be evaluated as part of this ILC/PT. This program is intended for laboratories with the ability to calibrate to a much higher temperature. This 1000 degree F to 2000 degree F thermocouple has excellent short term stability and have been valuable for laboratories with uncertainties in the range of 1 degree F to 4 degree F.

Tachometer/Stopwatch TACH/STOPWATCH-107

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for laboratories to evaluate practices, training, and measurement uncertainties in the calibration of timing parameters. This kit includes a digital tachometer and stop watch. Tachometer Contact resolution is 0.1 rpm up to 9,999.9 rpm; Non-Contact resolution is 1 rpm up to 99,999 rpm. Stopwatch resolution is 0.001 seconds. Participants are asked to make 12 measurements, consisting of Contact from 500 to 6,000 rpm; non-Contact from 1,000 to 40,000 rpm; and time from 60 to 86,400 seconds. Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

Frequency Counter (High Stability) ELECTRICAL-HP-5342A

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide participant laboratories a means to demonstrate technical competence in the measurement and/or calibration of time base frequency. The reported value and associated uncertainty of participant measurement process will be evaluated. Laboratories involved in time/frequency measurements in the 10E-10 range will benefit from this test. Most electrical calibration laboratories have equipment necessary to verify time base stability.

Frequency Meter ELECTRICAL-PM6680

This program involves a frequency counter that represents the measurement functions of a typical instrument. Most calibration laboratories providing third party service include this capability. The stability performance of this counter should be considered at the low end. The stability specification for aging/month greater than 5 x 10-7. Laboratories desiring higher levels of stability should participate in the ILC/PT developed using the HP5342A. Participating laboratories perform measure and source activities in time/frequency.
