Description

The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for participants to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of their practices, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to calibration and testing of transducers-based Torque Measurements Systems. This this test consists of one (1) digital transducer indicator and (1) torque transducer cells (with 1/2” female square drive). Participants generate 10 known torque values in the range (180 to 1800) lbf·in. Five (5) measurements are in the clockwise (CW) direction and five (5) in the counterclockwise (CCW) direction and report the observed output indication from the NAPT Artifact system display. Participants typically report an uncertainty in the range of (0.5 to 2.0) lbf·in. Participants must have measurement uncertainties that are not significantly smaller than the reference uncertainties associated with these types of devices and calculation of uncertainties per accepted metrology practices.

Participants are expected to be familiar with calibration of, have appropriate lab equipment and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.

This Travel Kit artifact offers a variety of ILC/PTs to choose from. By enrolling in the DTTIND-417 ILC/PT, participants can also enroll in the DTTIND-407 ILC/PT at a reduced Travel Kit Price (details available under Pricing in our Services section).
