    Introduction to INTRA ILC/PTs

    • The purpose of an Intra ILC/PT is to give the organization an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriate equipment, procedures, and the ability to follow instructions) in calibration or testing as defined on their scope of accreditation. By participating, participants demonstrate technical competence for the parameters associated with the measurements being taken. Associated reported uncertainties are also evaluated as part of this internal ILC/PT.
    • The NAPT INTRA Manager provides a tool where participants can manage all their Intra ILC/PT enrollments. Participants have the capability to conduct their own intra-laboratory comparisons, view past, current, or future projects, and access reports in the NAPT Customer Portal.
    • Intra ILC/PTs should be conducted in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043 and ISO 13528. These are the internationally accepted standards to follow when conducting a proficiency test. It is the responsibility of the Intra ILC/PT Coordinator to ensure the requirements of ISO 17043 are implemented and followed.
    • Participants completing an Intra ILC/PT will have a better understanding of the measurement process within their organization.
