Eagan, MN, September 2026 – The National Association for Proficiency Testing (NAPT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Henry A. Zumbrun to the NAPT Board of Directors, where he will serve as Technology Director.
Henry brings more than 25 years of metrology experience to the Board, with expertise in force and torque measurements, technical education, laboratory improvement, and industry standards. Throughout his career, he has focused on helping laboratories better understand measurement error, improve processes, and achieve more reliable measurement results.
As Technology Director, Henry will bring this combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and commitment to continuous improvement to NAPT as the organization continues to advance its proficiency testing programs, resources, software, and support for the metrology community. He strongly believes that a laboratory’s measurement uncertainty claims should be demonstrated through proficiency testing, with an En value of less than one providing evidence that the laboratory’s measurement results are consistent with its stated uncertainty.
Henry has been an active contributor to metrology education and standards development throughout his career. He has taught courses and technical sessions for organizations including NCSLI, the Measurement Science Conference (MSC), and A2LA, and has authored numerous technical papers and industry resources.
In addition to his technical background, Henry is committed to continuous learning and leadership. His professional development includes Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Champion credentials, along with extensive business strategy, leadership, and management training.
Henry’s appointment reflects NAPT’s continued commitment to bringing experienced industry leaders together to strengthen proficiency testing, technical education, and the resources available to laboratories throughout the metrology community.
