Description

By enrolling in this interlaboratory comparison, participants can evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of their measurement practices, staff training, operational protocols, and measurement uncertainty related to the calibration and testing of Frequency Measuring Devices and Frequency Counters.

This ILC/PT Kit contains a: Hewlett Packard Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Model 33120A (option 001: Phase Lock / TCXO Time base - 4 ppm/year). The participant will configure the Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator, using the Internal Time Base, to generate sine wave signals of 1 Volt (RMS) amplitude in the frequency range of 0.05 Hz to 15 MHz and then measure 14 different frequencies using their laboratory standards and report their associated measurement uncertainty.

Participants determine whether or not they have appropriate uncertainty prior to enrollment. The range of uncertainty should be sufficient to support calibration of the 33120A artifact. The measurement uncertainty at k=2 should be equal to or less than the manufacturer accuracy of the HP 33120A artifact at each individual test point (Manufacturers stated Frequency Accuracy: 4 ppm in 1 year).

This Travel Kit artifact offers a variety of ILC/PTs to choose from. By enrolling in the Frequency Source-2522 ILC/PT, participants can also enroll in the HP 33120-3024, ILC/PT with each ILC/PT at a reduced Travel Kit Price (details available under Pricing in our Services section).
