Eagan, MN, June 2026 – The National Association for Proficiency Testing (NAPT), the most trusted name in the metrology community for providing administration, development, software tools, and support for interlaboratory comparisons, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Doty to the NAPT Board of Directors.

Stephen brings decades of experience in metrology, calibration, accreditation, and quality management. Throughout his distinguished career, he has supported laboratory quality and measurement assurance initiatives across the U.S. Navy, accreditation organizations, and NASA. Most recently, Stephen has contributed to quality and metrology efforts at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where he continues to champion technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the laboratory community.

Stephen has been a strong advocate for accreditation, proficiency testing, and the advancement of measurement science. His experience spans pressure and vacuum metrology, laboratory operations, quality systems, and accreditation program leadership, providing a unique perspective that will help guide NAPT’s continued growth and impact.

As a member of the Board of Directors, Stephen will support NAPT’s efforts to advance laboratory quality through proficiency testing programs, technical collaboration, and educational initiatives that strengthen confidence in measurement results worldwide.
