The primary purpose of this ILC/PT is to provide a means and opportunity for participants to demonstrate their proficiency (e.g., use of appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s equipment, procedures, methods, measurement uncertainty and ability to follow instructions) in the calibration and testing of Frequency Counters. By participating, participants will demonstrate technical competence for the measurement of parameters associated with like equipment.
This ILC/PT Kit contains a HP 53132A (opt 012, 124) Frequency Counter. Participants will use their lab practices to perform 6 measurements; 1 Time Interval Measurement (0.15 µs); 4 Frequency Sensitivity Measurment (100k Hz to 200 MHz) in the range (-25 to -35 dBm), and 1 Time Base Measurement at 10 MHz. Measurement values will be appropriate for the calibration of similar devices.
Participants are expected to be familiar with the operation and calibration of Frequency Meters, have all necessary auxiliary equipment to support the measurement and have measurement uncertainties appropriate for calibration of similar devices.
